A Fond Farewell…
Dear Southern Touch Tours Travelers and Friends,
There’s a long-time and enduring quote that tells us to take time to “smell the roses”. And, for me and Southern Touch Tours that time has finally arrived.
After 30 years of providing outstanding value and fun-packed motor coach tours I am announcing my retirement and the close of Southern Touch Tours effective December 31, 2019. This is a decision I’ve thought about for some time and it finally crystalized this past May with the sudden and unexpected passing of my business partner and friend, Craig Colley. Craig and I worked together seamlessly for the past 30 years to bring new experiences, fun and a lifetime memories to thousands of travelers on hundreds and hundreds of tours.
I’ll not forget the reactions of a traveler from Alabama when she described the feeling of awe at visiting our nation’s capital, Washington D.C., for the first time. And, the stories you told about the great adventures of our fabled “Western US” tours could fill a book. I’ll not forget the fun-filled Christmas tours to New York City and I can vividly remember the stories surrounding a motor coach tour that travelled from Alabama to Alaska and back. That’s a lot of miles and even more memories. There are so many stories, so many memories, so many destinations including Penn Dutch Country, Canadian Rockies, Fall in New England, Mississippi River Boat Tours, Tulip Time in Holland, Michigan and dozens and dozens of other destinations including our fun “Mystery Tours” and Fox Theater Show Tours. And, most importantly, there have been so many friends made.
Now it’s time for me to visit the places you’ve talked about; it’s time to indulge in some overdue “R & R”, and it’s time for me to make some memories with my family including our four forever “puppies”, my husband, our two sons and our granddaughter.
I offer you my sincerest and heart-felt thank you for your support over these past 30 years and for your friendship, as well.
